We have seen all the adverts and the press coverage about the massive pension misspelling scandals of the 1980s and 90s. Maybe you were even strung yourself. Hardly fills you with confidence, does it? There are tax benefits to pensions, but the high charges and poor performance of many private pensions often make them barley worthwhile, if at all.
