AUSTRALIA IN SOUTH AFRICA 2009

After a horrible series at home, Australians got of to a worst possible start in their opening test against South Africans at the Wanderers. Australians after losing the No: 1 position will be looking forward to take revenge for their defeat in the home series against South Africans. South Africans, on the other side are keen to retain the No: 1 spot. This is a going to be an interesting encounter. First day of the first test between Australia and South Africa has witnessed a lot of drama and emotions. Australians, batting first lost three quick wickets and were struggling at 38 for 3. Dale Steyn of South Africa bowled really well with good pace and excellent line and length. It was a test of patience. It was when the captain of Australia, Ricky Ponting and vice-captain of Australia, Michael Clarke were batting. Both batted sensibly and piled up runs.
Once they both got out everyone thought that it is all over and Australians will be bowled out cheaply, until Marcus North, debutant from Australia scored a superb century. Mitchell Johnson, a tail-ender from Australia scored a quick fire innings of 96*, including 26 runs of a Paul Harris over.
